Truly Batique is a small online business that is based in Great Malvern, Worcestershire. We have been established since 2019. Our main motto is “to make the world a better place by giving back to underprivileged communities”. We at Truly Batique are strong believers of “kindness and love", this is our journey, our greater purpose of helping skilled unidentified artisans.
Not only are we giving back monetarily to these creative artisans but we are encouraging them to lead enhanced, fuller lives by freeing them from poverty. Hence all our line of products are sustainable, fair trade and ethically sourced, from various indigent artisan communities across South East Asia.
Who are these communities that we help and promote? As we are familiar with the region of South East Asia, we are focused on impoverished communities there such as the indigenous tribal women who live in the dense rainforests of Borneo, a school of skills for underprivileged women in Gujarat, India to the small cottage based business in Bali, Indonesia.
Our weavers who weave our Signature basket bags, are the last of the nomadic hunter-gatherers that are also a generation of artisan weavers. Weaving is a dying art form as it is time and energy consuming. It can take up to 45 days to weave a basket bag depending on its size and design! So promoting it helps keep this intriguing artisan craft going.
All our very talented artisans are mainly women. Besides caring for their children and families, they take to making bags in order to educate their children and feed their families.
All our products are ethically sourced from home based, women-led industries in rural villages, where even light and water are scarce.
All our beautifully crafted products are of premium artisan quality, unique, handmade and sourced in fair trade pricing. We believe in empowering these artisans with dignity, honesty, gratitude and equality.
